Research themes

Our work is divided along the themes identified by the Joint Programming Initiative for Antimicrobial Resistance (JPI-AMR): Diagnostics, Surveillance, Transmission, Environmental Pollution, Therapeutics, and Interventions. Research along these themes as well as efforts into Education and Outreach will create new resources to tackle this global challenge.

We have chosen to primarily focus on a crucial threat, multi-resistant carbapenamase producing enterobacteriaceae (CPE). Infections with these bacteria are threatening the very basis of modern medicine and are often considered the greatest antibiotic resistance threat on the horizon.
