The fourth annual CARe meeting was held June 3th - 4th on the island of Hisingen. Approximately 60 CARe scientists participated during the theme-based sessions.

The fourth annual CARe meeting was held June 3th - 4th on the island of Hisingen. Approximately 60 CARe scientists participated during the theme-based sessions.
On the first day, scientists from the themes Therapeutics, Environment and Transmission presented their work.
Day two we all enjoyed talks from researchers from the themes Surveillance, Diagnostics and Interventions.
Keynote speaker the second day was Professor Ramanan Laxminarayan, Director of Disease Dynamics, Economics & Policy (CDDEP) USA .
Before the concluding lunch a panel discussion took place.
Adam Shehata, Peter Ulleryd, Jasper Littmann, Christian Munthe and Ramanan Laxminarayan vented their thoughts around what role CARe could play in the future. Strengths, possibilities, responsibilities and values were among the issues that were discussed. J. Larsson led the discussion.
All in all it was a great meeting.
The venue was nice,
the food was good and
new collaborations were established.
