Call for Exchange Support (in- and outgoing), 2017

Invitation to submit application for exchange support

1. General description

In order to establish new collaborations with international partners, CARe is offering financial support to CARe-members. Support can be given for a CARe member visiting another lab/scientist outside of Sweden for learning new methods or to establish a new collaborations. Alternatively, CARe funding can be used to cover costs for a foreign scientist coming to Gothenburg for a shorter visit. The support (intended to contribute to costs for traveling, living expenses etc) will only apply to new collaborations (i.e. with foreign scientists that previously have not or are not presently collaborating with CARe). We hope to be able to fund up to 10 requests. Priority is given to travel-events in the near future (ideally 2017 or early 2018) and some consideration will be taken to spread grants across research groups. Please note the support is not covering participation at conferences, and only for establish new collaborations.

Level of support:

- Within Europe (outside Sweden)  10 000 SEK
- Outside Europe                         15 000 SEK

Deadline: 1^st October (Another call is expected in 2018)

2. Rules for applicants

Who is eligible?
- Any CARe member can apply (PI’s, Postdocs and PhD students)
An application must contain:
- Name and home-institution of Applicant
- A letter of support from PI (applies only to postdocs and PhD students)
- Who the non-CARe-scientist is (name and affiliation)
- When and where the event will take place
- A short motivation describing why this new collaboration might be fruitful and a brief description of the modus operandi (max ½ page).

3. Submission and evaluation procedure

The complete application should be sent by email to care@gu.se. The decision about support will be made no later than the 10^th of October, hopefully earlier.
