The third annual CARe meeting

The third annual CARe meeting was held June 11th-12th on the island of Hisingen.

Approximately 60 CARe scientists participated during the theme-based sessions.

On the first day, scientists from the themes Diagnostics, Environment and Transmission presented their work. As one of two keynote speakers the first day CARe-scientist Ingegerd “Ia” Adlerberth from Department of Infectious disease at GU talked about clinical screening for multi-resistant bacteria.

Next, Christina Greko from the National Veterinary Institute (SVA) gave a very much appreciated keynote talk on “Antibiotic Resistance, Animals and Veterinary Medicine”.

Day two we all enjoyed talks from researchers from the three themes of Therapeutics, Surveillance and Interventions. Also, Ed Moore, CARe member as well as curator of the Culture Collection University of Gothenburg (CCUG) gave an insightful lecture of what support CCUG can provide.

All in all it was a great meeting.
